Tropical rain forests are found on the windward side of the Western Ghats and in the island groups of lakshadweep and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as these regions receive more than 200 CM of rainfall

Tropical moist deciduous forest exist mostly in the Eastern part of the country the north-eastern states along the foothills of Himalaya, Jharkhand,West Odisha and Chhattisgarh and only Eastern slopes of the Western ghats as these regions received and for between 100 to 200

The thorn forest and scrubs hath found in the areas receiving scanty rainfall that is not and North Western part of the country
