Entropy is a statistical measure of the disorder in a thermodynamic system. Disorder is the 'number' of possible states a thermodynamic system could have. (Refer Boltzmann's entropy formula.) The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics says that in a closed thermodynamic system entropy can only increase.
