(a) The poet, here the child tells that "The world is deaf" cause adults don't understand what they are upto, here people cause world into destruction and pollute the air or life for coming generations.

Here the child(protogonist) is pained to realise that world is in verge of destruction. It asks to make world peace by stopping the causes of wars and let the future generations live happily.

(b) Adults believe in war more than faith and friendship, so here veil of dust indicates that, they cause war to have to peace among nations but the actual reason is there is no peace to world by war.

Veil of dust refers as war had brought the dust among us that would make adults lose affection towards other people. ( war brought load of dust over affection)
