Level to which people believe they have power over events in their lives.

Person with an internal locus of control believes that he/she can influence events and their results while someone with an external locus of control blames outside forces for everything.

Personality psychology, locus of control is the degree to which people believe they have control over the outcome of events in their lives, as opposed to external forces beyond their control.
