Portia was a kind, wise and honourable lady. She was obedient because she followed her father's wishes even after his death. She was brave as she went to Venice in disguise as a lawyer and could have gotten into deep trouble if her disguise had been let out. She was kind because she let Bassanio take as much money as he wanted to save Antonio.
She did not like any of her suitors except Bassanio. She called one suitor a drunkard, one a horse and another one a skull.
According to me, Bassanio was a worthy husband for her because he clearly placed quality and behavior before looks and money(casket choosing ceremony, he chose lead, the dullest). Though he had his fair share of negligence and carelessness, he tried to make up for it.
