Discuss Stalin 's program and policies in short for class 9
Answers
Joseph Stalin became the leader of the Communist Soviet party in 1924 after the death of Vladmir Lenin.
By 1927 and 1928, there was a acute problem of grain supplies in some cities of Russia.
The peasants were given fixed prices to sell their crops but they refused to do so.
Stalin believed that the rich peasants and traders are holding their stocks in a hope for higher prices.
This resulted in the introduction of the Collectivisation of Soviet agriculture.
A great majority of peasants were brought to large state farms.
Part members toured these farms, supervised the collection and raided Kulaks in 1928.
Lands were taken away by the peasants to create large and modern state farms.
Whoever did not agree to this plan were severely punished and deported and exiled.
Hope this helps...It's a little lengthy but it's a 5 mark question. All the best.
