li is the first element of group 1 but it shows different properties from the rest of the element of this group such a behaviour is known as anamolous behavior of lithium
it is a due to following reason
1:very small size of lithium atom and it's anion
2:high ionisation enthalpy and low Eleteropositive character than rest of alkali metals
3:high polarizing power due the increase the covalent character due to which they are able to dissolve in organic solvent
3:lirhium is a hard where other alkali metal are soft
4:melting and boiling point of lithium is comparatily high
5:lithium when rates with oxygen to form monoxide other form peroxide and superoxides
