1803 - 1805 Second Anglo - Maratha war

1817 - 1818 Third Anglo - Maratha war

This was the final and decisive conflict between the British East India company and the Maratha empire in India. The war crushed the Maratha power. The Peshwa was removed and sent away to Bithur, near Kanpur, with pension.

These wars started because the British had an eye on the Maratha empire as they wanted to acquire as much territory as possible.
