Answer:The air quality in Delhi, the capital territory of India, according to a WHO survey of 1,650 world cities, is the worst of any major city in the world. It also affects the districts around Delhi [2][3] Air pollution in India is estimated to kill about 2 million people every year; it is the fifth largest killer in India. India has the world's highest death rate from chronic respiratory diseases and asthma, according to the WHO. In Delhi, poor quality air irreversibly damages the lungs of 2.2 million or 50 percent of all children.

On 25 November 2019, the Supreme Court of India made statements on the pollution in Delhi saying "Delhi has become worse than narak (hell)".[4] Supreme Court Justice Arun Mishra said that it is better to get explosives and kill everyone.[5]

India's Ministry of Earth Sciences published a research paper in October 2018 attributing almost 41% to vehicular emissions, 21.5% to dust and 18% to industries.[6] The director of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) alleged that the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) is lobbying "against the report" because it is "inconvenient" to the automobile

AnsweR :-

What are the causes of air pollution is Delhi?

1. Use of petrole and diesel in automobiles.

\implies Though CGN (compressed natural gas) is being used by many people in Delhi, still there are number of people who use petrol and Diesel in there automobiles. Basically petrole and Diesel cause air pollution by increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in air.

2. Buring of crops in neighbouring states/cities.

\implies In the cities of Haryana and Punjab crops are being burnt those are known as "parali" they produces harmful gases in the air and they get mixed into the air and come to Delhi and Delhi again gets polluted.

3. Gases of factories.

\implies Delhi is an industrial area where there are number of factories, those factories produces harmful of gases that got mixed into the air.

Prevention :-

1. Stop using Petrol and diesel and start using CNG (compressed natural gas)

2. The government should take actions against those people who burn crops in open air.

3. Factories should use solar panels for there work.

4. Lesser the vehicles lesser the pollution. Means one family should have maximum 2 cars only incase of emergency they should buy the third one.
