There are 4 stages in this flow chart:

Producer >>> Wholesale Markets >>> Retailer >>> Consumers

Here Producers are the farmers...who often end up in the hands of big land owners who demand more crop from the farmers which is a big loss for the farmers...

Wholesalers ( also these same land owners) often trick the farmers into paying more by raising the actual rate of ( for eg:) vegetables in the Markets.

Farmers are by this time are the first ones to face loss....then when wholesalers sell these vegetables ( products) to retailers ( groceries ) or ( petite shopkeepers ) retailers buy it for a higher rate. Now the final and last stage of the cycle...the consumers buy the products and pay even higher.

So...during this whole process the Wholesalers and Retailers are the ones who are benefited.

Farmers on the other have give away their good products and end up with their worst crops leaving them no option but feed their families with stew...and Consumers ( Us) we too will be affected in the long run.

Farmers have a deal with their land owners that if they work for their land the farmer will give 1/4 of the crop. They also get loans from people who demand more money as time goes by and farmers cannot pay them back. And this is the point when farmers can no longer take any more of this. They suicide. When farmers die we people do not get food. Or there is no one to provide us with food.

So this is how we will be affected in the long run. So we have to join hands and help each other whenever we can. Each drop sweat fallen to the ground matters! Each grain of rice matters!

Well this is pretty much the problem in India....
