The characteristics of medieval towns are listed below :
● the towns were encircled by an outside moat or were walled. The town resembled an island when its Gates were locked at the sunset.
● it was usually governed by physically significant terrain.
● towns by the main routes of travel, and by the riverside had trade in food grains, clothes and other handmade artifacts'.
The buildings in the town very high whereas the buildings four houses which were located in the rural areas were simple. Since ages the rural areas and the towns are interdependent on each other as the rural areas supply the towns with various Agricultural Products the towns helped the rural area in getting jobs as most of the industries were set up in those areas only.
