it lies in group 1and period 3 of periodic table

Allah is extracted from its ore in the form of its oxides =LiO2

a) electronic configuration of Li - 1s² 2s¹

b) position of Li in periodic table - Li is a s block element , it is placed in the first group and second period .

c) extraction of Li from its ores - Lithium is highly reactive alkali metal that offers immense heat and electrical conductivity . Due to its high reactivity  , pure elemental Lithium is not found in nature but are generally found in the forms of salts and other compounds like Lithium carbonate . Lithium salts are found in deposites of clay, brine, mineral ore.

Lithium extraction is a chemical process in which lithium is isolated and converted to  a saleable form of lithium.
