__________

==》Nationalism and the ideas of a nation-state emerged like this:

●After the French Revolution, French revolutionaries tried to create a sense of collective belonging. They also felt that it was their duty to help other countries become free. On hearing of the news in France, many students formed Jacobins Clubs which paved the way for the French into the countries. So, first of all, the french helped in creating a feeling of nationalism.
●Industrialisation began in England in the late 18th century. It was only in the early 19th century that industrialisation began in countries like France and Germany. Many of the educated middle-class liberals carried the idea of national unity following the abolition of aristocratic priveleges.
●Through culture and language, nationalism spread. Romantic nationalism, as it was called, aimed at creating a particular nationalist sentiment,. Through the revolutions in all parts of Europe such as Greece, Italy, Germany, France, etc. nationalism was carried abroad.
●People began realising their unity while struggling against colonialism. The sense of being oppressed under a shared ruler provided a bond which tied various groups together.
