Economic activities are the activities which contribute to the flow of goods and services in an economy.

Primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector are the different economic sectors

1. Primary sector- It includes those activities which are closely related to man's natural environment. This sector forms the base for all other sectors.

For e.g. gathering, hunting, fishing etc.

Secondary sector- It includes the occupations which produce finished goods by using the products of primary sector as raw materials. It is also known as manufacturing sector. For e.g manufacturing of cloth from cotton, sugar from sugarcane etc.

Tertiary sector- It helps in the development of primary and secondary sector. This sector, by themselves, do not produce a good, but they are a support for the production process.So it is also known as support sector.For e.g. transport, communication, etc

{\huge{\bf Economic\\ \\ \bf Activities}}

Economic activities are the activities practiced by man to earn money as the name suggests. There are three major types of economic activities. These are:

 \textbf {Primary Activities}

• These activities deal with the extraction of raw materials and work related to them. Because most of these activities deal with agriculture, this sector is also called agriculture and related sector.

• These activities include agriculture, fishing, mining, forestry, etc.

 \textbf {Secondary Activities}

• The activities in the secondary sector deal with creating a finished and tangible product from the raw materials produced in the primary activities so that these products are ready to reach the consumers. Because these activities mainly deal with the work done in industries, it is also called industrial sector.

• These activities include manufacturing.

 \textbf {Tertiary Sector}

• The activities in the tertiary sector don't deal with any manufacturing but instead, they help in transportation of products to consumers from the factories. Since this sector deals with the services provided, it is also called service sector.

• These activities include transportation, communication, trade, IT, BPO, etc.
