Diversity and Unity in India
Our country is a country of diversity of climate, physical features, peoples, ethnicities, religions, languages, cultures, etc. Nearly every region in our vast and varied land has breathtaking natural beauty and enchanting flora and fauna. Tigers and Dolphins, Elephants and Pheasants, majestic Deodar and Orchids all are part of the enchantment of this land. Kaziranga, the wild life sanctuary in Assam, is home of the rare one horned rhino. Arunachal Pradesh had monasteries like Tawang as impressive as Ladakh and like Sikkim which could boast of Pemyengtse and Tashiding attracted a lot of tourists interested in Buddhism.
In spite of such a varied diversity, there are many forces and factors that keep Indians belonging to different cultures, language, religions, etc. united. These factors are sports, IT, Educational institutes such as KVs, colleges, universities, cinemas, wars, and natural disasters. When any Indian sports team wins a match against a rival team, it brings the people of our country together. Similarly, at educational institutes, people belonging to different castes, cultures, and faiths gain knowledge together, which also brings them together? National integration is also felt when Indian armed forces fight a war or any other aggression by the anti-national forces.
IT is playing a great binding force on the people of India in the modern times. People are connected to one another through internet or e-business.
However, at times, the same national unity can be in danger. In such cases, the people must be reminded the common past struggle of their ancestors in the independence struggle or in the process of development. People should be reminded the common bonds that bind them together.
In conclusion it can be said though there are many differences in India, yet there are enough cementing and binding forces that hold them together. The Government should use all the above mentioned tolls to maintain national unity.
