let's consider,

v2-v1/u2-u1 = 1

v2-v1 = u2-u1____________(1)

from momentum conservation,

mu1+mu2 = mv1+mv2

u1+u2 = v1+v2_______________(2)

from equation (1)&(2)

u1 = v1 & u2 = v2
