Soil erosion is caused by many factors . One of the main factor being soil degradation .

Now there are many reasons why soil degrades, a few are mentioned below :

1) Deforestation
- Cutting down of trees removed the roots of plants from the soil which loosens the soil which causes erosion.

2)Use of pesticides and harmful fertiliser
-Using harmful pesticides, fertilisers or insecticides during agriculture harms the soil in the long run and also causes erosion.

3)Dumping if chemical waste
-Dumping of chemical waste from the industries alter the composition of the soil causing degradation and hence, erosion.
