Loudness of sound depends upon the intensity(I) of sound. It is found that.

L ∝ Log I

i.e. greater the amplitude, greater will be the intensity (I ∝ A^2) and so louder will be the sound.

thanks

= Loudness refers to how loud or soft a sound seems to a listener . The Loudness of sound is determined , in turned, by the intensity of sound waves . Intensity is a measure of the amount of energy in sound waves . The unit of intensity is decibel ( DB ).

Intensity results from two factors : the amplitude of the sound waves and how far they have traveled from the source of sound .
......It depends on the amount of energy that started the waves
