Latitude, as India has a vast latitudinal extent from 8 degree 4 min North to 37 degree 6 minute north which divides India into two types of climate : Tropical and Temperate
Distance from the sea, as the places near the sea have moderating influence of the sea, thus they have an equable climate and the places in the interior of the country have an extreme type of climate.
Altitude, as the temperature decreases by 6.4C per kilometre of ascent.
