A social institution is a process network that focuses on some main interests. Every purpose of the social institution is interrelated and powerful. Society is made up of a single social entity, such as political, economic, educational, and other institutions. Likewise, both the social and individual needs are met by all institutions, and social institutions regulate the social system and the manage the society. In general, social institutions help to preserve the overall society structure and function.

Family is the oldest social structures where members live together, which have as blood, marriage and change a shared culture and connection. A family has the right to continue the family generation through the development of children. The family members have their status and position identified. It is a social institution that has been the oldest and common and more stable than another. Families are organized in socially patterned ways and are also shaped by their relationship to a system of inequality in the society. Functions of a Family

Biological Function: The husband and wife in the family obtain both legal and social consent to a relationship which meets the family's physical needs. They even procreate their children to to continue their generation.

Physical Function: A physical function includes childcare, food, housing, clothing and protection that the family can easily sustain. Throughout all facets of physical life, the family members also have mutual trust and mutual support.

Economic Function: Another important function of a family is economic activity.Their inheritance determination of parental property goes to the line age.  It also serves as a unit of society for production and consumption. Among families, father, mother and children are assigned to various tasks, there is a wide distribution of jobs.

Social Function: The formation of the family in society refers to a social feature. They often integrate their role and standing in society and take part in various social activities. In the same way, socialization is very necessary after the birth of the baby. The process of socialization is to imparting to families knowledge to follow family and community norms and values, cultural traditions and moral principles, leisure, schooling and so on.

Religious and Cultural Functions: The religious and cultural roles of the family include the conduct of religious and cultural events like worship, celebration of holidays and holidays, ritual execution, full religious ethics etc. It is also a crucial institution for transmitting culture from one generation to the next.
