The fickleness of the mob is clearly evident in the play 'Julius Caesar'. When Brutus gave his speech and told them that Caesar was 'ambitious', the mob grew hatred for Caesar and believed in Brutus's words without even qiestioning him or raising any doubts in their minds. They were easily swayed by the words Brutus said.
Similarly, when Antony tried to prove Brutus wrong and gain sypathy for Caesar by providing proper arguments, the mob completely agreed without thinking for a minute.
So from the above instances we see that mob is totally gullible and easily flattered. It is fickle-minded because it doesn't use mind of its own.
