Answer:

Technically speaking, it is the function of a nation to follow the constitution and there is no underlined function of the constitution. Our constitution was adopted in 1950 and was not changed even once from then. Many nations donot even have a written constitution(U. K, France, Israel). But our fathers of the constitution had framed it for the future India to be the most rigid and flexible one.A flexible constitution can be amended by an ordinary law making exercise, while a rigid constitution can be amended by a very difficult and special procedure.

a) Some of the provisions of the constitution can be amended by simple majority of the parliament. Ex. Creation of a new state, creation or abolition of upper house of state legislature.

(b) Certain provisions of the Constitution of India can be amended simple majority of the house and two-thirds majority of members present and voting.

(c) Finally, some other provisions can be amended by two-thirds majority of the Parliament and ratification by the majority of the State Legislatures.

Following all the provisions in the constitution is the function of parliament. Nothing can be done against the rules prescribed in the constitution.
