Photosynthesis is the process through which green plants prepare their food . During the process of photosynthesis green plants or autotrophs take carbon dioxide from atmosphere through stomata . In presence of sunlight the carbon dioxide is reduced to carbon and oxygen . Then with the splitting of carbon and water molecules glucose is formed . The oxygen is released to the atmosphere. The process of photosynthesis is the only natural process in which light energy is converted into chemical energy.
