1. About RBC's

•RBC's stands for Red Blood Corpuscles.

•RBC is also known as Erythrocytes.

•RBC is the most abundant of all cells in the blood.

•In mature RBC other cell organelles like mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum are absent.

•Due to absence of mitochondria anaerobic respiration takes place in RBC.

•The colour of the RBC is red due to presence of a pigment Haemoglobin.

2. Life Span of RBC's

In a healthy person life span is 120 days.

•In new born baby it's life span is 100 days.

3. Shape of RBC's

The shape of the RBC's is biconcave.

•Biconcave shape of RBC increase surface area.

•If we put RBC in hypertonic solution than it will shrink.

•If we put RBC in hypotonic solution than it will burst.
