In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the factories and mines were unsafe and demanding places to work.
• During the industrial revolution, child labour was a prevalent feature and included children who were exposed to inhuman and violent conditions. Be it mines, factories, or other workplaces, kids would work in hot and hazardous conditions for low wage rates and that for long exhausting hours.  
• Children were thus often faced with difficulties and workplace abuses. Children were not only compelled to work in dangerous, cramped and hot conditions, but they had little or no right to compensation if they were injured at work. Because the government embraced capitalism, they had no measures to pressure factories to protect or recompense employees if they were hurt and no longer allowed to work.
