Uncle podger is a very vivid and humorous character.

When Harris took upon himself the job to do everything. J remember the story of uncle podger.

Stoy:
When he came back , he undertakes the hanging of the picture. He took off his coat and made everyone run for one on the other thing.
He cut his finger and searched for the handkerchief all around the house .
He starts again . Now the nail is lost . Everybody searches for it . When the nail was found , the hammer was lost. Now the hammer was found and the mark on the wall was lost .

He measures again.
Now he slips from the chair and falls on the piano and hurt his head.
Next he strikes with the wall and flattens his nose.
At last in the m8dnight , the picture was hung , very crooked. He sees it with great pride and feels himself like a hero of a battle.

J compares reminds Harris about Uncle Podger, who once created a commotion in the house when undertook a simple task like hanging a picture.

Hello I can help you.

The following are the humorous elements in the story by Jerome K Jerome-'Uncle Podger hangs a picture':
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1)He says at the starting of the story-"Oh, you leave that to me. Don't you, any of you, worry yourselves about that. I'll do all that". But does he do everything himself? He orders everyone in his family, including the boy, the girl, and the charwoman to do work like getting the nails, finding the hammer etc. and caused a lot of commotion.

2)He orders Tom to hand him the picture, drops it, and cuts his hand. He then looks for his handkerchief. He remembered that it was in the pocket of his coat and ordered everyone to look for it. But he was sitting on it, and when he realised that, he said,"Oh you can give it up! I've found it myself now. I might just as well ask the cat to find it, than to expect you people to find it."

3)When he took the nail, he dropped it and everyone had to look for it. When it was found, he lost the hammer.
After the hammer was found, he would lose sight if the mark he made on the wall.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4)When he was remeasuring the wall with a rule and a string, he fell down on a piano.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5)After finally measuring it, he would blow his hand with the hammer and drop it on somebody else's toes. The second time, he hits it so hard that the nail goes clean through the plaster, and half the hammer against it, and Uncle Podger was thrown
towards the wall with force nearly sufficient to flatten his nose.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6)
After the picture was up, it was very crooked and insecure, and the wall looked liked it had been smoothen down by a rake. Yet, with everyone exhausted and sleepy, he said, stepping on the charwoman's corns,"There you are. Why, some people would have had a workman in to do a little thing like that"
