There are many hurdles for the implementation a uniform civil law in our contry as:

1 .it is seen as an encroachment on religious freedom,it infringes the right to freedom of religion.

2 many customary practices which are in the criteria of UCC misinterpreted with the religious practices.

3 practical difficulties in implementation due to diversity for e.g in North East states Meghalaya youngest female inherits the property of mother while in North West it differs ,it will create dilemma.

4 finally time is not suitable ,first awareness should be spread and all communities must come together to talk about UCC so that misinterpretation could be resolved.
