The \large\rm { \pi } bonds between \large\rm { C_{1} \ and \ C_{2}} are perpendicular to that of \large\rm { C_{3} \ and \ C_{4}} by \large\rm { \pi p - \pi p} overlapping.

Therefore, the hydrogen attached to \large\rm {C_{1}} and those attached to \large\rm { C_{2}} are in different planes (ie, perpendicular).
