The impacts of the abolition of censorship in France in 1789 are the following:

1. Prior to the revolution in France, all the books, newspapers and plays could be published only after approving it from the censors of the king. After the abolition of censorship people were given with a natural right of the right to speech and expression.

2. The ideas got generalized among the masses as a result of concentrated discussion and debates in salons, coffee houses through magazines and newspapers

3. The abolition of censorship meant that opposing opinions of issues could be exposed.
