New economic policy proved helpful in development of rural India by providing employment to many unemployed rural Poor through 5 year programs. Advancing agriculture sector by providing HYV seeds, pesticides, insecticides, rural credit etc as most of the rural population depends upon agriculture and allied activities. New economic policy also helped in infrastructure development in rural India.
