The western education was introduced in the wake of British rule in India. And it was this Western education which introduced various notions to the people of India.

Through Western education, again the Indians became familiar with the ideas of democracy and nationalism; it was in this process that the seeds of nationalism were sown amongst the Indian people.

Western education had a great influence on the middle class people of india during the struggle for the independence of india . western education help the leaders make them understand the political scenario in india at that point of time . It also helped in making the masses understand how to raise their opinion on a particular issue. Moreover the influence of western education broke the communication gap btw different social groups present in different parts of India and helped in mass mobilisation.
