The Indian Armed Forces command is based at Andaman and Nicobar Islands, to watch over India's interests in the Southeast Asia and Strait of Malacca. It provides administrative and logistics support to Indian naval vessels stationed in that area. The Naval base - INS Dweeprakshak is in Kavaratti, Lakshadweep.
