Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah was easily defeated and associated by the British. Mir Jafar, the new nawab, was a puppet in the hands of the East India company. He gifted large sum of money and 24 Parganas of Bengal to the British. The East India company got trading privileges and become the uncrowned ruler of Bengal
