The physiography of influence on agricultural practices of northeast India are as follows. In North east India, there are good quality of soil, for harvesting wheat, sugarcane, rice daal etc. As there is a too dry weather it is needed for the crops to be irrigated properly for good results.

The regions of north east India has very fertile land, and it is suitable to grow wheat on those lands,as compared to rice. Farmers earn a good earning, and also feed themselves and there families, from the crops grown.

  • The northeastern region of India is composed of 8 states and they include the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Sikkim.
  • Geographically this region is most diverse and comprises of the eastern Himalayas, baraka valleys plains, and the Brahmaputra river. About 2/3 rd of this region is hilly and has an altitude of 7000 meters above the means sea level.
  • The hilly regions of the naga, Garo, Khansi, and jampui are all part of the eastern Himalayan range. Du to the physiography this region has a subtropical n monsoon climate.  
  • Due to the altitude and local relief little land is available for agriculture. Terrace farming, jhuming cultivation, and tea gardening are practiced in these regions.
