1. On 8 August 1942, the All-India Congress Committee met in Bombay and passed threhistoric Quit Indian

Resolution.

2.It proposed a mass struggle on the widest possible scale under Mahatma Gandhi.He gave his mantra 'Do  or Die'.

3.Mass civil disobedience began and the railways, police, law courts,etc. were all affected.

4.The Quit India Movement demonstrated the depth of nationalism feeling in the country, the capacity for  struggle and sense of sacrifice among the Indian people.
