The National Forest Policy was introduced in the year 1952 and after that many changes have been introduced in it.
The primary purpose was to earmark a balanced, complimentary use of land that would give the best yield without deforestation.
It aims to prevent denudation, erosion, planting trees and allocating the dead plants or the fully grown up trees by the competent authorities to get wood and timber.
It was also aimed to protect the wildlife and have enough pastures for grazing.
