Usually a person’s life is‘divided’ into two- professional and private. Theindividual’s professional life is supposed to be open topublic returning where as in his private life he/shehas the freedom to do as he/she pleases withoutbreaking the law. But the social worker has greatresponsibility even in his personal life. For example, itis unlikely that a social worker can be bigamous andstill maintain the community’s respect as a guide or leader.
The social worker should strive to achieve a highlevel of competence ami proficiency in the practiceof the profession:
Pursuit of excellence is a desiredgoal of every committed professional, no matter whatthe field is. Social workers are not different from othersin this aspect.
