The physical properties and features of the earth, the population and the type of population inhabiting different regions of the earth, are studied in Geography. Geographers study the earth as a whole, as well as the different regions on earth, separately. The scope of Geography is vast, as the earth has regions, which differ vastly in features from each other.

Geomorphology is an aspect of Geography, that studies the features of earth’s surface and their relation to geological structures.

Geomorphology refers to the study of the evolution and origin of bathymetric and topographic features which are thereby created through the biological, chemical or physical processes which operates at the surface of the Earth.

The work of geomorphologists is that they have to understand why the landscapes look a certain way.
