The Harappan civilization or the Indus Valley Civilization is an important part of history. It was a Bronze Age civilization (3300–1300 BCE; mature period 2600–1900 BCE).

Inhabitants of the ancient Indus river valley developed new techniques in handicrafts. Stones were not used to build homes. Harrapa was the first town discovered. They used tools made of copper.
