This concept basically refers to the fact of gender equality in the concept of production in the industry of goods and services.
In regard to this notion, trade generally refers to the exchange of goods and services in return for money. Trade exists from one place to another and expands across local and international borders.
So trade, does not necessarily work for equality means that the main aim of trade is not of promoting equality. In fact its main aim is that of profit maximization. Mostly, the aim of trade and or selling of goods is to get make profit.
Most policymakers focus on a narrow interpretation of women’s empowerment where they often argue for “investing in women and girls” as a means to achieve poverty reduction and GDP growth.
Domestic trade liberalization takes place, and if that happens then it is usually accompanied by policies related to foreign direct investment, labor markets and public finance, etc.
Whether trade reforms have equitable effects vitally depends on the appropriate combination of all these policies. All of these combinations are not likely to have implications for positive gender equality.
It is true that trade is necessarily work for equality. The seller usually do not justify the source of his stock and the cost that undertook to determine the charges and cost of the product in question.
The product offered too may be of a higher value than its cost because the seller might be having minimal or no knowledge for the product in question.
