Lactic acid is a common and fair example of optical isomerism.The (+) enantiomer of lactic acid is found in muscles.The positions of the hydroxyl groups on the chiral molecules can be compared with the glyceraldehyde to see if they are the D-enantiomer or L-enantiomer.
