Many factors are taken into account when establishing personal flexibility: joint structure, ligaments, tendons, muscles, skin, tissue injury, fat (or adipose) tissue, body temperature, activity level, age and sex all influence an individual's range of motion about a joint.

Answer:

  1. Muscle strength- the muscles should have a minimum level of strength to make a movement possible specially against gravity
  2. Joint structure - There are various types of joints in human body . Some of the joints have a greater range of motion than others
  3. Age  - Its a well known fact that flexibility decreases with the advancement of age
  4. Previous injury - Injuries to connective tissues and muscles can lead to thickening or fibrosing on the affected area
