• More population requires more place to live which resulting in clearing of forests and adversely affect the environment of the world. It also destroys the habitats of many animals which becomes extinct.
• It also brings down the standard of living of people. The standard of living is determined by their per capita income. As per capita income decreases, the standard of living also decreases.

• Large Population makes it possible to form a large army which can be used to defend the country during war or any other emergencies.
• It increases the availability of cheap labour.
• It leads to the formation of the large market as investors would like to invest in a country with a large population.
• It motivates people to innovate. Increasing population pressurize society to innovate to better serve the people.
• A large population can increase the gross domestic product of the country only if they are provided with education and good health opportunities.
