Education Programme seeks to contribute to the achievement of MDGs 2 and 3, as well as to MDG 7 on sanitation and the Millennium Declaration on Child Protection. The Programme has supported the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), India's flagship programme to improve the enrolment, retention, achievement, and completion rates in elementary education, and the implementation of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act through inclusive and child-friendly schools and systems, in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and key actors at national level and across 15 statesAccount Department.
