When the national assembly was busy in rafting a constitution for France the rest of the France suffered with crisis.

Due to severe winter and bad harvest the price of the bread rose often bakers exploited the situation by hoarding the stock.

Due to lack of food poor peasants and farmers started a huge uprising against the Govt.

In the countryside some rumors were spread that the Lords had hired bands of brigands to destroy their crops.

This added oil to the flame of the revolution of the peasants , peasants in several districts attacked chateaus ( Castle of the lord ) , they looted grains , burnt documents containing details of Feudal Dues and seized control.

As a result a large number of nobles fled for their lives. The rest migrated to neighboring countries.
