Also, to meet the King Louis's debts, he increased the taxes levied on people, along with two taxes called Taille and Tithe, which are charged by the clergy. Hence to show the power of common people, they stormed the prison Bastille, which seemed to be a symbol of royal power. Finally, they dethroned King Louis and his wife Queen Marie Antoinette and beheaded them using the guillotine and initiated the people's rule.
