Followings are reasons for which our agricultural sector is dominating by intensive substitute farming:-

1. Due to law of inheritance, the limited arable land holdings become smaller in size.

2. Land holdings are not only reduced but also became fragmented. So, technological application is not viable for the farmers.

3. Huge population and domestic animals depend on this limited agricultural land. So, farmers use intensive irrigation and bio-chemical inputs to draw more production which reduces productivity in the long run.

4. Due to less awareness about modern technology, institutional limitations and bureaucratic hurdles in the implementation of reform measures the agriculture still depend on intensive substitute farming.
