Ala-ud-din took over the throne of India in 1296. In the beginning, he had to face many challenges. A few revolts occurred during the early period of his reign. Although, all these successfully subdued him to find out the root cause of these revolts. After consulting his nobles, he reached the following conclusions:

1. Inefficiency of the spy-system.

2. During parties among the nobles brought them close to one another and it provided the basic for conspiracies against the king.

3. Social intercourse and inter-marriage among nobles made them a complete dangerous for king.

4. Excess of wealth gave people power and leisure for evil thoughts and rebellions.
