The role of digestive enzymes in lysosomes:

The digestive lysosomes is to clean the debris that is present in the cell, they also play a major role in the immune system activity of the cell in which they help to digest the pathogens that enter the cell.

The lysosomes also play a vital role in apoptosis, programmed cell death to recycle the apoptotic bodies that are formed in a cell. The lysosomes contain digestive enzymes and has an acidic pH to help in all these activities.
