Discuss the role of family, media and teachers in creating gender fair society.
Answers
These three are essential components of a gender fair society.
Parents Parents are the first teachers who give us moral values and support us at every phase of live, yes, every phase until they leave us. They are the ones who must first teach their children, i.e. the growing generation about the ill-stereotypes in our society, which are differentiating sons from daughter, not providing equality. Instead of buying the sister-brother duo different toys as babies, which so-called-boys-or-girls-toys, teach them to share and respect each others' properties, even toys. The sons should be taught to give equal chances and respect to girls, and daughters should be taught not to be afraid of guys or disrespect them. The first school is home. Teach the kids to change the society, not to change for the society.
Teachers After a certain period of time the kids start going to school, spending lesser time with parents. At the institutions, the teachers should guide the students to respect each others instead of fighting or teasing. There shall be no difference that pink and orange are colors of feminism while red and blue show masculinity. No, colors do not decide your gender and personality, its your actions which do. When a boy and girl are just walking together, instead of judging and pairing them, they should also look at the other side, 'Can't a guy and girl be just friends?'
Media Media is the place where majority of the society participates. There are many advertisements and articles, and many other things which knowingly or unknowingly create gender division, For example, Kinder Joy is a famous product which has eatable chocolate balls as well as free toy surprises. There is a division of the product of Kinder Joy boys and girls which has a blue and pink color theme respectively. The gifts inside create a further division by being marked as boys' toys and girls' toys.
I would like to say that these components should be destroying the stereotypes and prejudices of the society instead of nurturing them. Only then, we can complete the dream of a gender fair society.

Media:
The media should not portray men as the dominant gender and provide awareness to the people about women rights. Telecast and publish shows and articles that promote unity and equality.
